Written by on December 22, 2024

Yesterday, the Women of Integrity self-help group under Reach Out Trust gathered in Victoria Falls, Mkhosana township to commemorate their achievements, sharing goods and successes of what they attained in 2024. The event showcased the group’s progress in empowering disadvantaged women.

Reach Out Trust, founded by Isaac Dube in 2020, focuses on addressing gender programming and child protection. Women of Integrity, established in 2022, aims to develop women’s independence.

“We train women to be independent, not dependent on their husbands,” Dube emphasized. “Our mission is to develop a culture of serving, particularly among women, to enhance household stability.”

Women of Integrity provides comprehensive training such as saving and goal setting, conflict resolution, record keeping and business skills.

Group member Constance Nyoni shared her inspiring story. She said through Women of Integrity, she managed to buy a car and relocated her children to town for better education. Others testified that they upgraded their standards by accessing education and sustaining their families.

Spokesperson of Women of Integrity, Mrs Lumuno Mudenda announced plans to establish five additional groups in 2025, targeting vulnerable women. “Our aim is to empower women, ensuring children’s well-being.”

Mudenda said they got a $10,000 grant which will provide sewing machines, boosting income-generating activities. Some machines will be distributed to rural areas, including Lubangwe.

Mudenda urged women to join Women of Integrity. “Empower yourselves, empower others.” She emphasized collective action.
