Zimbabwean international defender Tendayi Darikwa concluded his first season with Lincoln City on a high note, scooping three awards at the English League One club’s end-of-season ceremony.
The 33 year old right-back, who joined the Lincoln City last summer, was a consistent and influential figure in the team, making 44 appearances. His contributions were not limited to defense, as he also contributed five goals and four assists throughout the campaign.
Despite a 2-0 loss to Wrexham in their final league match, Darikwa’s Lincoln City finished 11th in the League One table.
The talented Zimbabwean, known for his versatility in defense and midfield, was honoured with three accolades which included Player of the Season award, the Bill Stacey Memorial Trophy for the Red Imps Travel Section Away Player of the Season, and the 617 Player of the Season award.
Darikwa’s impressive form since returning to English football from a stint in Cyprus earned him a new contract with Lincoln City in January. The deal also includes a further 12-month option, potentially keeping him at the LNER Stadium until the summer of 2027.
