Bulilima Rural District Council, in partnership with Mvimi Safaris, handed over six pedigree bulls to local communities in a bid to improve cattle breeds and contribute to the growth of the national herd.
The handover ceremony took place at Khame Business Centre in Matabeleland South Province yesterday.
Each of the six bulls were presented to one of the district’s traditional leaders Chief Masendu, Chief Mphini, Chief Madlambudzi, Chief Hikwa, Chief Manguba, and Chief Kandana who will receive them on behalf of their respective communities.
The initiative aims to strengthen community-based livestock improvement efforts by introducing high-quality breeding stock to rural farmers, ultimately boosting productivity and resilience in the face of recurring drought and livestock diseases.
