Beitbridge Man Remanded in Custody for Raping Minor Cousin at Knife Point

A 25-year-old man from Chief Sitaudze in Beitbridge has been remanded in custody for allegedly raping his 15-year-old cousin at knife point, the accused, Mickson Ncube, appeared before the Beitbridge Magistrates Court on charges of rape.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the incident occurred on December 31, 2024, when Ncube was left in charge of the complainant and two other minor children. He allegedly took advantage of the situation by beginning to touch the complainant inappropriately and threatening her with a kitchen knife when she yelled for help.

The Prosecuting Authority stated that Ncube then dragged the complainant outside the house, threw her to the ground, and threatened another cousin who intervened with the knife. He eventually took the complainant to a nearby bush, where he raped her while holding the knife.

The complainant reported the incident to her mother over the phone, which led to the accused’s arrest.

The court has remanded the accused in custody pending his next court appearance today.
