President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officially open the Fourth National Education Summit Zimbabwe in Bulawayo later this month, as key stakeholders push for bold and practical reforms to modernise the country’s education sector.

The four-day summit, scheduled for May 27 to 30 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds, will be held under the theme: “From Policy to Practice: Driving Innovation and Investment in Zimbabwe’s Education System.”

Organisers say the high-level gathering will convene government leaders, education experts, development partners, private sector players, academics, and civil society organisations to explore solutions to some of the sector’s most pressing challenges.

Key discussions are expected to focus on sustainable education financing, teacher empowerment, digital transformation, innovation in learning, and expanding access to inclusive education across Zimbabwe.

Event organiser Alson Darikayi said the summit aims to shift attention from policy formulation to the implementation of practical and sustainable strategies capable of improving education delivery at grassroots level.

The event is being organised by Action for Empowerment Zimbabwe in partnership with Business Diary and in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education led by Minister Torerai Moyo.

About 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the summit, which is anticipated to produce strategic recommendations aimed at improving learning outcomes, strengthening support for teachers, and accelerating the modernisation of school infrastructure nationwide.
