The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has urged parents to seek psychological counseling and adopt constructive ways to resolve disputes with their children to prevent tragedies such as suicide.
Speaking during an interview, Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele stressed the importance of this approach following the recent suicide of a 17-year-old boy from Tshabalala after an argument with his mother.
Police are encouraging parents to seek professional help for their children and foster open communication. They also urge young people to resolve conflicts peacefully and respect their parents to reduce the risk of self-harm.
