The government is working on measures to mitigate the effects of the El nino by drilling boreholes and building dams.
Speaking at the national Thanksgiving service held in Bulawayo, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa stated that climate change has affected rainfall patterns across the country.
He encouraged the public to pray for rain to come, quoting Zachariah 10 verse 1 which states that only God has the power to give rain.
Zimbabwe has been severely affected by the El nino drought with rainfall patterns being disrupted with many areas receiving rainfall later than usual.
