Zimbabwe is set to host the SADC Regional Labour Conference from March 24 to 28 in Victoria Falls, bringing together representatives from 16 member states to discuss innovative ways to protect workers’ rights.
Permanent Secretary for Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare, Simon Masanga, confirmed that preparations are near completion, with guests already making reservations.
He emphasized Zimbabwe’s readiness to host the event, which aims to strengthen regional labour policies.
The country has already taken significant steps in labour protection, including amending the Labour Act and gazetting the Occupational Health and Safety Bill to safeguard workers, particularly those in high-risk industries. The upcoming conference reinforces Zimbabwe’s commitment to prioritizing workers’ rights.
