The world yesterday marked World Wildlife Day, a global event aimed at raising awareness on the conservation of the planet’s flora and fauna.
According to the United Nations, this year’s commemoration highlights the importance of innovative financing in wildlife conservation to secure a sustainable future for both people and the environment. The World Meteorological Organization has also urged increased investment in wildlife conservation finance, including early warning systems that protect both ecosystems and human populations.
In Zimbabwe, the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority hosted a commemorative event at ZimParks Gardens in Harare. The gathering seeks to recognize the vital role wildlife plays in ecosystems and its contribution to both nature and human well-being.
