ZIFA Denies Abandoning Mighty Warriors Supporters

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has dismissed claims that it abandoned Mighty Warriors supporters in Pretoria, stating that ferrying fans was never its responsibility.

In a statement, ZIFA expressed concern over circulating images of stranded supporters but clarified that it was not involved in their travel arrangements. The association stated that fans either made their own plans or used transport provided by Simba Bhora, emphasizing that ZIFA was never consulted.

ZIFA has urged affected supporters to contact their transport providers for assistance. Fans had traveled to Pretoria for Zimbabwe’s match against Angola, where the Mighty Warriors lost in a penalty shootout. After the game, several supporters were reportedly left stranded outside the stadium and team camp.
