Written by on December 4, 2024

In a full council meeting held at the Victoria Falls City Council yesterday, the suspension of Victoria Falls Town Clerk Ronnie Dube was officially endorsed. Victoria Falls Mayor Prince Thuso Moyo confirmed the news, stating that investigations into corruption charges against Dube are currently underway.

The allegations against Dube included the improper sale of stand 1829 in Chinotimba Township, which was sold for significantly less than its value. This incident has raised concerns about governance and accountability within the Victoria Falls City Council.

In the meantime, Chamber Secretary Kholwani Mangena will assume the duties of the Town Clerk with immediate effect. The council is expected to hold another meeting in 14 days to discuss the ongoing investigations.

VIFACORA Chairperson Mr. Kelvin Moyo, representing the residents of Victoria Falls, has also confirmed Dube’s suspension.

Updates and results of the investigations are expected to be announced on December 23rd, 2024.
