Victoria Falls Mayor Faces No-Confidence Motion

Victoria Falls Mayor Councillor Prince Thuso Moyo is facing a no-confidence motion over allegations of misconduct, incompetence and breaches of council procedures.

The motion was tabled during a Full Council meeting on Tuesday by Ward 10 Councillor Thindolie Sibanda and seconded by Ward 9 Councillor Tapiwa Sibanda.

However, proceedings were disrupted after Town Clerk Ronnie Dube ruled that the motion had not been introduced in accordance with the required procedure.

Councillors have also accused Mayor Moyo of failing to attend some government engagements and council committee meetings, as well as allegedly acting beyond his official powers.

The allegations have not been determined, and the matter is expected to be dealt with through the council’s established procedures.
