Victoria Falls Forges Ahead with Critical Water Infrastructure Upgrade in Mkhosana
Written by Staff Reporter on May 24, 2025
The City of Victoria Falls is making significant strides in enhancing its water supply infrastructure, with the construction of vital new water reservoirs in Mkhosana well underway. This ambitious project is set to bring unprecedented reliability to the water supply for Mkhosana residents, a welcome development addressing long-standing challenges.
At the heart of this initiative are two new water tanks, strategically designed to bolster the city’s water resilience. The elevated 0.75 Million Gallon (MGL) tank has already reached completion and successfully undergone testing, marking a key milestone in the project. Meanwhile, work on the larger 5 MGL tank is progressing rapidly, with its base and sides now complete and roofing to follow soon.
Upon their full commissioning, these two reservoirs will collectively hold enough water to supply Mkhosana residents for two full days. This substantial capacity is particularly crucial as it will largely mitigate the impact of power cuts, which have historically disrupted water supply in the area.
The ability to maintain consistent water availability, even during electricity outages, represents a major leap forward for the community.
The City of Victoria Falls is commendably demonstrating its commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens through this essential infrastructure investment.
This project underscores a proactive approach to addressing urban development needs and ensuring that fundamental services are robust and dependable.
The ongoing works in Mkhosana are a testament to the city’s dedication to progress and its vision for a more resilient and well-serviced future for its residents.
