The European Union (EU) is adjusting its approach to investing in Zimbabwe, prioritizing partnerships with the private sector over direct government funding due to the country’s current debt situation.
This was announced by EU Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Jobst von Kirchmann, during the inaugural EU-Zimbabwe Business Forum.
Ambassador Von Kirchmann emphasized that sustainable development and infrastructure growth require viable, debt-conscious collaboration with the private sector.
The EU remains committed to supporting Zimbabwe’s economic transformation, focusing on models that promote private sector involvement and accountability.
By working together with the private sector, the EU aims to unlock Zimbabwe’s economic potential and promote sustainable growth.
