Trump bans federal funding to State of Maine

United States of America (USA) President Donald Trump has banned Federal funding to the state of Maine due to the state’s stance on transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.

Trump highlighted that this opposes USA’s executive order that banned biological males who identify as transgender from competing in women’s sports.

Speaking on the matter, Trump revealed that his government will stop the funding up until the state upholds the executive order.

The ban is likely to affect basic necessities like special education programs, community health care programs, transportation and highway funding, substance abuse treatment programs, food and housing assistance for low income families, among others.
