Truck Driver Charged with Negligent Driving for Accident on Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road

A haulage truck driver has been charged with negligent driving after causing an accident on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road, injuring four passengers in the early morning hours of the 3rd of November.
The accident occurred around 03:20 a.m. at the 75-kilometer peg on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police Matabeleland North Spokesperson, Inspector Glory Banda, the truck veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a bus heading towards Bulawayo with 32 passengers on board. Four bus passengers were injured and taken to Mbembesi Hospital for medical treatment.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities. Inspector Banda urged drivers to prioritize safety and exercise caution when driving at night, including avoiding actions that may impair other drivers’ visibility.
