Temba Mliswa Withdraws High Court Case Against ZIFA
Written by Staff Reporter on January 22, 2025
Former Norton Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa, has withdrawn his High Court case against the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA). The withdrawal was made today before Justice Tawanda Chitapi at the High Court in Harare.
Mliswa initially sought to challenge his disqualification from running for the ZIFA presidency, questioning the election process and the validity of the association’s new statutes. The presidential election is scheduled for 25 January 2025.
The former MP was one of five candidates disqualified by the ZIFA Electoral Committee for failing to meet the eligibility criteria.
Justice Chitapi is also set to hear the case of another disqualified candidate, Walter Magaya.
