Sam Nujoma’s Burial Set for March 1

The late founding father and former President of Namibia, Sam Nujoma, who passed away on 8 February at the age of 95, will be laid to rest on Saturday, 1 March.

Namibian Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Emma Theophilus, announced that, for the first time, a national hero’s body is being taken on a tour across Namibian regions to allow citizens to pay their last respects.

She also confirmed that Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, and Cuba are among the nations that will attend the burial.

Meanwhile, President Emmerson Mnangagwa signed a condolence book at the Namibian Embassy in Harare on Monday in honor of the late Namibian leader.
