SADCOPAC Conference Kicks Off in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

The 19th Annual Southern African Development Community Public Accounts Committees (SADC PAC) Conference convened today in the iconic city of Victoria Falls. This prestigious gathering brings together representatives from 16 SADC member states, united by a shared commitment to enhancing regional prosperity through effective parliamentary oversight, prudent financial management, and accountability.
The conference, themed “Enhancing Regional Prosperity through Parliamentary Oversight, Prudent Financial Management and Accountability,” will feature a series of panel discussions and workshops focused on strengthening oversight mechanisms and combating corruption. Delegates from Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are participating in the event.
The conference is scheduled to conclude on September 14th with a closing ceremony and the adoption of a communiqué outlining key recommendations for improving governance and accountability within the SADC region.
