Public Hearings on Medical Services Amendment Bill Underway

The Portfolio Committee on Health and Child Care has launched a series of public hearings today on the Medical Services Amendment Bill, aimed at soliciting feedback from stakeholders and the general public.

These hearings are part of an initiative to gather insights and recommendations from various groups regarding proposed changes to healthcare legislation.

Scheduled to run upto the 2nd of November 2024, the hearings will be held across three locations in Matabeleland. The first meeting took place today at Lupane State University, with subsequent sessions set for October 29 at Palm River Lodge in Gwanda and October 30 at Selbourne Hotel in Bulawayo, both running from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The committee encourages all interested parties to attend and contribute to the discussions, emphasizing the importance of public participation in shaping healthcare policies. However, attendees are reminded to adhere to a dress code that prohibits military uniforms, ranks, flags, badges, or political party regalia.
