President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reassigned two Cabinet ministers to new roles. Honourable July Moyo will now head the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, while Honourable Edgar Moyo takes over as Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.

The changes, announced by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, are in line with the Constitution of Zimbabwe and take effect immediately.

As the new Minister of Energy and Power Development, Honourable July Moyo will focus on resolving Zimbabwe’s energy crisis, which has been plagued by ageing infrastructure and limited generation capacity.

Meanwhile, Honourable Edgar Moyo will address pressing labour issues, including rising unemployment and the need to strengthen social safety nets for vulnerable populations, in his new role as Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.

In another development, Fulton Mnangagwa has been appointed as the Director-General of the President’s Department, in line with Section 226(1) of the Constitution.
