President Mnangagwa calls for investment in SADC energy transmission

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has identified the transmission of interconnections across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region as a critical area that requires partnerships and investment to create a viable and vibrant energy sector.
He made these remarks during the yesterday’s commissioning of Titan New Energy, Dinson, and Afrochine power plant in Hwange.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony yesterday, President Mnangagwa said that there is need to create a viable and vibrant energy sector in SADC to improve the transmission of interconnections across the region and this will enable shared benefits from new generation installed and will see investors taking interest to explore the numerous prospects in the SADC.
By promoting investment in the SADC energy sector and diversifying Zimbabwe’s energy portfolio, President Mnangagwa’s stated that these kind of projects are also vital in creating a more sustainable and vibrant energy sector in the region.
