Police Nab Alcohol Smuggler in Beitbridge Crackdown

A 33-year-old woman, Rumbidzai Ndlela, was arrested on 27 December 2024, at the Beitbridge Border Post for smuggling a large quantity of alcoholic beverages. The arrest was part of the ongoing operation “No To Cross Border Crimes.”
According to police reports, Ndlela was intercepted by police while driving a White Mercedes Benz Sprinter, registration number AGA 9507, at the Industrial Site in Beitbridge.
Upon inspection, the police discovered a massive haul of illicit alcohol, including 120 boxes of Viceroy, each containing 12 bottles of 750ml, 43 boxes of Jack Daniel’s, 57 boxes of Jameson, 39 boxes of Jack Daniel’s Old, 60 boxes of Grants beer, 40 boxes of Best, 10 boxes of Chova, and 20 bottles of Glen Fiddich.
Police has intensified its efforts to combat smuggling and protect the country’s revenue streams.
