Parliamentarians will gather in Bulawayo from the 1st to the 10th of November 2024, for the National Pre-Budget Conference, a key event in Zimbabwe’s financial calendar.
The conference provides a platform for economic experts, lawmakers, and government ministers to discuss critical issues related to finance management and offer recommendations for improving various sectors of the economy.
Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube, along with Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr. John Mushayavanhu, are expected to address pressing concerns surrounding the stability of the local currency. Currency stability has been a focal point of national discussions, particularly given the economic challenges Zimbabwe faces.
The conference will also build on concerns raised during the recent Budget Consultations, offering stakeholders a chance to explore solutions to financial challenges and outline priorities for the upcoming national budget.
The event is held in accordance with Section 28(5) of the Public Finance Management Act, which governs the control and management of public resources, ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of national funds.
