Nkayi Expo Puts Spotlight on SME Growth

The Nkayi Business Expo, held recently at Nkayi Business Centre, brought together entrepreneurs, government officials, and development partners to champion small business growth under the theme “Empowering SMEs for a Sustainable Future: Compliance, Innovation, and Integrity.”

Giving his keynote address renowned businessman Mr Bothwel Mushanduri urged SMEs to formalise operations, embrace innovation, and uphold ethical standards to attract investment and drive sustainable growth.

He also called for the revival of the Nkayi Crafts Centre and urged public and private sector players to award tenders to local businesses.

Organised by the Nkayi Chamber of SMEs in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, the event showcased local talent and reinforced the government’s support for SME development through initiatives like SMEDCO and the Women’s Development Fund.

The expo reinforced collaboration as a cornerstone of Nkayi’s economic transformation.
