The Civil Registry Department is set to expand its reach with the opening of two new sub-offices, aimed at improving access to civil registration services in Zimbabwe.

In a statement the department said the the offices are located at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Showground in Harare and the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo.

Meanwhile, services at both locations are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 14, 2024.

The Harare sub-office will initially focus on issuing national identity documents, while the Bulawayo office will offer both birth certificates and national identity documents. Both offices will operate from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

This expansion is part of the department’s broader efforts to enhance service delivery and make civil registration more accessible to the public.

By bringing these services closer to the community, the department highlighted that it aims to improve convenience for citizens while supporting Zimbabwe’s goal of providing legal identity for all by 2030.

The public is encouraged to visit the new sub-offices for essential services, such as birth registrations and the issuance of identity documents, as part of the government’s ongoing commitment to improving access to critical civil documentation across the country.
