The Deputy Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts, and Culture, Honourable Emily Jesaya, has reported significant progress in the ongoing renovations of the National Sports Stadium.
Speaking at the Pre-Budget Seminar at the ZITF grounds in Bulawayo, which runs under the theme “Building Resilience For Sustainable Economic Transformation,” Jesaya noted that while work has advanced, some aspects remain stalled due to funding constraints.
The National Sports Stadium was banned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) from hosting any games, as its conditions were deemed unsuitable for both players and spectators.
The government aims to complete renovations by December, with the expectation of hosting games by early January 2025.
