National Competitiveness Summit Opens in Bulawayo

The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) inaugural Competitiveness Summit is underway at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair. The summit aims to facilitate dialogue on competitiveness gaps and explore effective policy interventions to strengthen Zimbabwe’s business sector.

Speaking during the ceremony, National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) Board Chairperson, Patience Chimuka, emphasized the importance of the summit in boosting and supporting businesses across the country.

In a speech read on his behalf by Mrs. Boetsoarelo Noko, Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution affairs in Bulawayo rovincial Affairs Mr Paul Nyoni expressed the city’s anticipation for the summit’s outcomes noting the opportunities it presents to foster competitiveness within industries, ultimately promoting the “Buy Zimbabwe” campaign and boosting the national economy.

The summit has drawn participation from government ministries, parastatals, academia, and the private sector, fostering a collaborative environment for discussion and strategy development.

Running from today upto the 20th, the NCC Summit will feature insightful presentations, panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities for businesses across Zimbabwe. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officially address the summit tomorrow.
