The Mr. and Miss Rural Matebeleland North 2024 pageant is scheduled for 2 November 2024, at a site near King Lobengula’s historic disappearance spot along the Tshangani River in Nkayi, under Chief Dakamela.
Organized by Sipho Mazibuko, the founder of the Mr. and Miss Rural initiative, the competition is open to young men and women from the region, providing a platform for them to shine on a national stage. Mazibuko highlighted the importance of recognizing rural talent and the rich cultural significance of the event.
She added that the event promises to be a celebration of rural talent, culture, and beauty, showcasing the diverse heritage of Matebeleland North.
Following the Matebeleland North event, the pageant will also be hosted in other provinces, including Midlands, Masvingo, and Mashonaland West. Local businesses are encouraged to partner with the pageant, gaining regional exposure while supporting community development and cultural initiatives.
This event aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities, offering participants the opportunity to showcase their skills and beauty while celebrating Zimbabwe’s rural heritage.
