The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Bulawayo, Honourable Judith Ncube, has called for urgent upgrades to stadiums and other sporting facilities across Zimbabwe.
Speaking during the Rural Industrialisation Indaba at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Honourable Ncube stressed the importance of upgrading stadiums to meet international standards. She noted that Zimbabwe is a football-loving nation, and citizens deserve the opportunity to watch matches locally.
She also underscored the need to improve sports infrastructure in rural and peri-urban areas. While the Ministry of Sports, Recreation, Arts, and Culture is working on refurbishing national stadiums following Zimbabwe’s 2024 FIFA ban, Honourable Ncube pointed out that smaller stadiums have been neglected. She called on investors to support the development and rehabilitation of these facilities.
