A new cohort of junior officers and non-commissioned officers (NCOs) drawn from Zimbabwe’s security services today graduated from the Zimbabwe School of Infantry in Mbalabala after successfully completing a series of intensive instructional courses designed to sharpen operational effectiveness, leadership capacity and professional excellence.

The graduating officers, representing the Zimbabwe National Army, the Air Force of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS), underwent rigorous military and professional training aimed at equipping them with advanced tactical competencies, command skills and institutional discipline critical to national service.

The graduation marks a significant milestone in the country’s continued efforts to strengthen the preparedness, cohesion and professionalism of its uniformed forces amid evolving national and regional security demands.

Military officials said the instructional programmes were structured to enhance operational readiness while reinforcing the values of discipline, resilience, teamwork and strategic leadership among junior commanders and frontline supervisors.

The courses, conducted at the Zimbabwe School of Infantry — one of the country’s premier military training institutions — focused on developing practical competencies necessary for effective command, operational coordination and mission execution across diverse security environments.

The inclusion of personnel from multiple security institutions reflects a growing emphasis on inter-agency cooperation and integrated training, which authorities say is essential in responding to modern security challenges and safeguarding national stability.

Graduates are expected to return to their respective units with strengthened expertise and renewed commitment to duty, bringing enhanced leadership and operational capabilities to their organisations.

The ceremony in Mbalabala underscores Zimbabwe’s broader commitment to investing in human capital development within the security sector, as institutions continue prioritising training and professional development to maintain high standards of service delivery and national defence preparedness.
