Hon Monica Mutsvangwa Launches Mpilo One Stop Centre and Provincial 16 Days of Activism Against GBV Commemorations

The Mpilo One Stop Centre for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) was officially launched today by the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon Monica Mutsvangwa, at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo. The event also marked the Provincial 16 Days of Activism Against GBV Commemorations.
Minister Mutsvangwa highlighted the importance of providing comprehensive social protection and essential services for GBV survivors, aligning with the National Development Strategy 1 under the Social Protection Priority Area.
The Mpilo One Stop Centre is designed to streamline support by offering medical, psychosocial, and legal services under one roof. Minister Mutsvangwa acknowledged the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for funding administrative operations at the centres.
She called on stakeholders, including government ministries, development partners, non-governmental organizations, civil society, and the private sector, to maintain their commitment to supporting these centres and the broader fight against GBV.
The event was attended by various stakeholders, including senior government officials, representatives from development partners, civil society, and the private sector.
