Grain Marketing Board Sets Producer Prices for 2024/25 Season

The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has announced the approved producer prices for the 2024/25 season, along with the 2025 winter wheat incentive price.

Maize and traditional grains will be purchased at USD 376.48 per metric ton, soybeans at USD 580, and sunflowers at USD 668.98 per metric ton. The 2025 winter wheat incentive price is set at USD 451.35 per metric ton.

GMB will buy crops from farmers under the Presidential Input Programme (PIP) and irrigation schemes, while contractors must repurchase contracted produce at market rates.

Additionally, GMB will offer warehouse receipt services in partnership with the Zimbabwe Mercantile Exchange (ZMX).

The board thanked farmers for their role in ensuring food security and economic growth.
