The Government of Zimbabwe has approved the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Amendment Bill, aimed at curbing examination leakages, registration irregularities, and fraudulent practices within the education system.
Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr. Jenfan Muswere, said the bill seeks to strengthen accountability and protect the integrity of Zimbabwe’s examinations.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Honourable Torerayi Moyo, added that the proposed legislation classifies exam malpractice as a serious offence. Offenders may face imprisonment, while implicated examination centres risk deregistration under the new measures.
