Ghana Inaugurates President Mahama for Second Term

Ghana officially inaugurated President John Dramani Mahama yesterday at Black Star Square in Accra. Mahama, who previously served as President from 2012 to 2017, is returning for a second term.
In his inaugural address, President Mahama emphasized that his government would prioritize innovation and inclusivity for all Ghanaian citizens.
Alongside President Mahama, Jane Nana Opoku-Agyemang was sworn in as Ghana’s first-ever female Vice President, marking a historic moment for the country.
Mahama won the 2024 Ghanaian Presidential Elections on 9 December, securing 56% of the vote, while the ruling government’s candidate, Vice President Mahawumudu Bawumia, received 41%.
