In a bold artistic move blending education and music, Victoria Falls artist and educator George Gumbo has today released a socially conscious single titled “Siya Zvinodaka”, produced by renowned beatmaker Danmag. The track delivers a compelling message to the youth, calling for an end to drug and substance abuse.
George Gumbo, a teacher by profession, uses his platform not only to entertain but to educate. With “Siya Zvinodaka,” a phrase which loosely translates to “Say No to What Entices,” the artist tackles the growing concern of drug misuse among young people, particularly in Southern Africa.
“The youth are our future, and we cannot afford to lose them to addiction,” Gumbo said in a brief statement with Breeze FM during the launch. “This song is not just music—it’s a message, a movement, a call to action.”
Backed by hard-hitting production from Danmag, the song blends afro-fusion rhythms with spoken word-style verses, delivering a raw yet hopeful narrative. The lyrics urge listeners to resist peer pressure and seek positive alternatives to cope with life’s challenges.
Critics have already praised “Siya Zvinodaka” for its timely release and authentic storytelling, describing it as a song with “educational depth and community impact.”
The track is expected to resonate strongly across schools, youth programmes, and radio stations committed to raising awareness about mental health and substance abuse.
As both an educator and artist, George Gumbo exemplifies how music can be used as a tool for advocacy and positive change.
“Siya Zvinodaka” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
