Entembeni Old People’s Home Receives Lifeline with Commissioning of Water Borehole

Written by on August 20, 2024

The Dianne and Lillie Foundation, in partnership with Intuba, has commissioned a water borehole at Entembeni Old People’s Home in Luveve.

The borehole, drilled in memory of the late Mr. Allan Banda, aims to alleviate the water challenges faced by the home’s residents.

According to Mr Newman Sibanda, Board Chairman of Entembeni, the borehole is a blessing that will provide water for domestic use, bathing, and irrigation of the vegetable garden. Sibanda highlighted the difficulties of caring for the elderly, particularly when faced with water scarcity.

The Entembeni Old People’s Home relies on donations to sustain its operations. Sibanda appealed to Bulawayo residents to donate traditional foods like peanuts and other essentials. He also emphasized the need for social interaction, stating that the elderly require outings to prevent monotony, which can lead to health issues.

Those wishing to support Entembeni can contact Mr Newman Sibanda on 0772421438.
