Ecobank Closes After Armed Robbery

Ecobank’s Parkade Centre branch in Bulawayo has temporarily closed after the bank was robbed by six armed man yesterday.
The attackers still on the run made off with USD 4 million from Safeguard Security vehicles during a cash delivery, leaving staff and customers shaken.
In a statement the bank cited the safety of staff and customers as the reason for the closure.
It is expected to remain shut while a security review is conducted.
The bank has advised customers to use online banking services and visit its Bradfield branch at Zonkizizwe Shopping Centre for in-person assistance.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, and investigations are ongoing with the help of CCTV footage.
