Chivhayo Pledges $1 Million to Highlanders FC

Businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has pledged a $1 million sponsorship to Highlanders FC for the upcoming year, beginning with an initial $250,000 cash injection to support administrative operations.
In a Facebook post, Chivhayo announced the appointment of Jabulani Nkomo as curator to ensure proper allocation of the funds, with a focus on player welfare and operational efficiency.
He believes the sponsorship will help Highlanders attract new talent and cover signing fees, boosting competition in the 2025 Premier Soccer League.
Chivhayo emphasized that private-sector involvement is key to the growth of Zimbabwean football and supports President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, which encourages collaboration between businesses and government to achieve national development.
He expressed hope that his contribution will strengthen the club’s integrity and performance in a sustainable manner.
