Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have their trial set for today on fraud charges at the High Court.
They will appear before Justice Pisirayi Kwenda. The two have failed to obtain bail after applying twice and being denied both times as they are considered a flight risk.
The pair were arrested in July for fraud in the presidential goat pass on scheme where they took over USD7 million. Under their company, Blackdesk Private Limited, they won the tender to supply goats.
They were expected to provide 632000 goats after a certain deadline. When they failed to deliver, the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development conducted investigations that revealed that the document submitted for the tender were fake, which led to their arrest.
