Bonuses for Government Employees

Government employees are set to receive a financial boost as their employer rolls out bonuses and salary adjustments designed to ease the burden of rising living costs. In a bid to streamline the distribution process and reduce congestion in banking halls, the government has implemented a phased payment schedule.
The security sector will be the first to receive their bonuses, followed by health workers. Teachers and the rest of the public service will be the final groups to receive their payments. This staggered approach aims to make the process more efficient for both employees and financial institutions.
The Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare confirmed that the National Joint Negotiating Council recently approved a comprehensive salary adjustment package. This package includes back-paid cost of living allowances as well as an increase in local currency salaries, which aims to shield employees from the effects of inflation and ensure their incomes maintain purchasing power amidst economic pressures.
