Beitbridge Man Jailed 23 Years for Robbery and Rape

A 32-year-old man, Moses Mukonowenzou, has been sentenced to 23 and a half years in prison for robbery and rape by the Regional Beitbridge Magistrate Court for the Western Division.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority, the incident occurred on 9 January 2025 at a residence in Mashakada, Beitbridge. Mukonowenzou broke into the home, using violence and threats to rob the victim of cash and a cellphone before raping her. Medical evidence later confirmed the assault.

The court found Mukonowenzou guilty on both charges, handing down a severe sentence in response to the gravity of the crimes.
