Armed Robbers Strike Filabusi Mine, Make Off with US$22,400 Worth of Gold Carbon

An armed robbery occurred at a mine in Filabusi on 27 December 2024, when seven unidentified male suspects attacked security guards and made off with a substantial quantity of gold carbon.

According to police reports, the incident happened around 11 pm when the suspects, armed with machetes and logs, assaulted three security guards who were on duty.

The robbers then broke into a carbon room, where they stole 250 kilograms of gold carbon valued at US$22,400.

Police in Gwanda are currently investigating the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward, public is encouraged to report any details to the nearest police station, which could aid in the apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen gold carbon.
