The government will deploy ambulances and emergency services at major highways and toll gates during the festive season to reduce road accident fatalities. The initiative is aimed at ensuring swift medical response for accident victims.
This was announced by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Felix Mhona, during the 8th Annual General Meeting of the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) earlier this week.
He stated that the measure is intended to enhance emergency response along major highways, which often experience increased traffic and accidents during the festive period.
The Ministry of Transport will work with the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Health and Child Care to bolster emergency response systems and minimize loss of life resulting from road accidents.
