Caps United Reclaim League Summit

Caps United returned to the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings after a 2-1 victory over rivals Dynamos in the Harare Derby at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

Ishmael Wadi opened the scoring in the 10th minute from a Chawanangwa Kaonga corner as Caps United carried a 1-nil lead into halftime.

Dynamos improved after the break following the introduction of Jairos Kasondo, who forced an early save from goalkeeper Wallace Magalane, but Makepekepe held on for maximum points to move to 25 points, while Dynamos dropped to seventh on 17 points.

Meanwhile, Highlanders FC beat Triangle United 1-nil at Barbourfields Stadium through a second-half goal by Reason Sibanda.

The win saw Highlanders record their second victory of the season in 11 games, having endured a series of draws.
