President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for the official commissioning of the newly refurbished Adlam House and Nurses’ Home staff accommodation facilities, in a move aimed at improving the welfare and working conditions of healthcare professionals.

The commissioning ceremony marks another significant step in Government’s broader efforts to strengthen Zimbabwe’s public health sector through infrastructure rehabilitation, improved staff support systems, and enhanced service delivery.

The upgraded accommodation facilities are expected to provide modern and more comfortable living conditions for medical personnel, particularly nurses and frontline healthcare workers serving at one of the country’s largest referral hospitals.

Government officials said the refurbishment project reflects the administration’s commitment to investing in the health sector and addressing the needs of healthcare workers, whose role remains critical in delivering quality medical services to citizens.

The development comes as Zimbabwe continues implementing reforms and infrastructure modernisation initiatives across public health institutions to improve healthcare standards and boost staff morale.

Senior Government officials, health sector representatives, hospital management, and healthcare workers attended the commissioning ceremony, which underscores the importance being placed on improving conditions within the country’s medical institutions.

The refurbishment of Adlam House and the Nurses’ Home is also expected to contribute to staff retention and productivity, while reinforcing Government’s vision of building a resilient and efficient healthcare system.
