Zimbabwe finally on their Way Home Following MiddleEast Airspace disruptions

Written by on March 5, 2026

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has confirmed that the senior men’s national team is travelling back home from India following transit disruptions caused by recent airspace closures in parts of the Middle East.

The squad had been in India for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, and their return journey was affected after several regional airspaces were closed, disrupting scheduled commercial flights.

According to ZC, the International Cricket Council (ICC) assisted in securing alternative travel arrangements to ensure the team’s safe return.

Due to limited flight availability and revised travel routing, the team will arrive in Harare in batches.

The first group of players departed India on Wednesday, while the final group is expected to leave on Friday afternoon.
