President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday reaffirmed Government’s commitment to inclusive leadership, gender equality and youth empowerment as he chaired the 393rd Ordinary Session of the Politburo at the ZANU PF Headquarters in Harare.
Addressing party members, President Mnangagwa said the Second Republic remains firmly committed to creating an enabling environment that empowers women and young people to thrive and assume leadership roles across both the public and private sectors.
The President said Government’s development agenda is anchored on inclusivity, equal opportunity and broad-based participation, stressing that no citizen should be excluded from contributing to national progress on the basis of age or gender.
He reiterated Government’s commitment to gender mainstreaming and expanding opportunities for capable Zimbabweans, highlighting landmark appointments as evidence of tangible progress in advancing inclusive governance.
President Mnangagwa cited the appointment of Zimbabwe’s first female Chief Justice and the elevation of one of the country’s youngest professionals to the position of Auditor-General as key milestones reflecting Government’s confidence in merit, competence and the leadership potential of all citizens.
He said such appointments demonstrate the Second Republic’s resolve to break barriers and foster a governance system that recognises talent, professionalism and dedication regardless of gender or age.
The President added that broadening leadership opportunities remains central to Government’s efforts to strengthen institutions, enhance accountability and ensure greater citizen participation in national development as Zimbabwe pursues its modernisation and industrialisation agenda.
