23-year-old Gwelutshena Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Bar Murder

A 23-year-old Gwelutshena man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of a 39-year-old man following a violent altercation at a local bar.
The incident occurred on 5 August 2024 at a bar in Turkmine Business Centre, Inyathi.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Mtabisi Ndimande was drinking with the victim and other patrons when a heated argument broke out over an undisclosed issue.
The court heard that despite a security guard’s intervention, tensions escalated, and Ndimande pulled an axe from his waist, striking the victim on the head before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
