The Ministry of Education has announced that the 2025 Lower Six classes will commence on 27 January 2025. This decision aims to maximize learning time for students and prevent involvement in illegal activities such as drug abuse.
Moses Mhike, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, emphasized the importance of planning for both parents and school heads. He urged school heads to calculate school fees on a pro-rata basis, determining the fees based on the number of days in the first term.
Mhike also warned schools against withholding students’ results for any reason, stating that such actions are illegal and can lead to legal consequences. He reiterated that school fees are a contract between parents and schools, while results are a contract between ZIMSEC and the student.
